Salsa

This is my grandma's recipe. It is from southern Texas.

We serve it at every family get-together. It's better than any store-bought salsa because it's fresh. Serve it with your favorite tortilla chip or you can add it to your food for an extra kick. We like it with our eggs in the morning.

Ingredients:

2-5 jalapenos
½ small yellow onion
1 bunch cilantro
2 cloves garlic
1 28-ounce can of whole, peeled tomatoes
1 8-ounce can of tomato sauce
salt (optional)

Preparation:

Boil jalapenos for 30 minutes until soft. Cut off stems and dice jalapenos, onion, cilantro, and garlic. Put whole tomatoes in a big bowl and cut them up. Add diced ingredients. Add tomato sauce. Mix well, salt to taste. For chunky salsa, don't use a food processor or a blender. Remember, the more jalapenos, the hotter it gets!
