photo: Jose by lower Yosemite FallsHello everybody! This is Jose “Pepe” Herrera speaking. I am the brand new intern at Yosemite’s Wildlink program. I arrived yesterday afternoon (March 31, 2003) I am so exited to be here in Yosemite; I love the environment and wildlife. I am a former Wildlink student; I was in the expedition II (2001-2002) and I loved it! It was an experience that I would never forget; for that reason I decided to come back and passed that fun experience to other people.

I am from Mexico, Mexico City to be exact, but I have lived in Berkeley, California for six years. I currently live in Quincy California do to my college studies at Feather River College. Quincy it’s a nice place to live, nice and small; off from the mainstream media—just like Yosemite (Yosemite is better— I say). College life is great, three classes a day and lots of free time; I could not ask for more. My major right now is business and political studies. I hope one day to became a senator or a marketing/Advertisements guy (a guy that makes commercials) who some day can affect your life in some way, hahahaha…! But affect it in a good way. So don’t forget to vote for me in 2020.

I enjoy the outdoors; it is one of my passions. But the one thing that is my number one passion is soccer/futbol/calcio, what ever you want to call it. I have being playing soccer since I was 6 years old. I bet that if I cut one of my veins, blood would not come out, but soccer balls will! Some people call me soccer junky or soccer fanatic, but I am not, I guess I am a guy with a true love!

I am looking forward meet the new participants of the Wildlink program. I hope you had fun reading my small bio as much fun as I had writing it. I hope to see you soon! ¡Hastá luego!
