Weekend
The
National Park Service, Forest Service, and Yosemite Concessions
Service with the generous support of the Yosemite Fund are collaborating
on a weekend event to bring WildLink, Generation Green, and Environmental
Science Academy alumni to Yosemite for a weekend of fun and learning
in Yosemite. WildLink Family Weekend will take place on February
24 and 25, 2001. During this weekend reunion, families will have
a chance to explore Yosemite, its rich cultural history, job opportunities
in the park and neighboring forests, and HAVE FUN in this unique
natural wonder that belongs to us all. We are eagerly anticipating
the arrival of the alumni and their families!
Join
our Campfire

here at WildLink are pleased to announce a new feature to the
WildLink website. We have established online discussion boards in
the campfire section of the website, for students and the general
public. As of now, both campfire chats are secure and require registration.
Please register yourself for the campfire
and start chatting with your peers!

WildLink
Expedition IV will take place from March 25-30, 2001. It will
include students from Divisadero Middle School, Sunnyside High School,
and Redwood High School. We are looking forward to seeing them in

Yosemite
Winter Literary Conference Contest
We
received
many strong entries for the Yosemite Association sponsored Yosemite
Winter Literary Conference to be held from February 25 -
March 1. A panel of judges from
the Yosemite community has reviewed the entries and selected the
top three. The winning piece was submitted by the student-teacher
team of Aaron and Suzanne of Golden Valley High School. Please view
their Power Point presentation: A
Spiritual, Philosophical, and Realistic Approach to the Sierra Nevada.
The second place entry, also from Golden Valley High School, The
Exalted Sierra Nevada, comes from the student-teacher team
of Tandrea and Gail. The Sierra
Nevada Mountains, our third place entry, was created by
the local student-teacher team of Allison and Michelle of Yosemite
Park High School. We would like to thank all of the student-teacher
teams who submitted entries for their enthusiasm and creativity!
Stay
tuned to the campfire
section of the WildLink website for correspondance from Aaron and
Suzanne as they participate in the First Annual Yosemite Winter
Literary Conference later this month!
