Circle of Friendship

OK, it’s the last night with us all together and I had intended to write so much more about my wonderful experience backpacking, but I found each moment so jam packed that as these amazing things were happening I felt at a loss for words. All I can say is, I feel blessed!

Katie

Sitting by the fire the flame glow, coals burn preparing marshmallow sticks, the day has just been a blessing, sunshine given to us after that dreadful rain storm. I think we’re all so grateful. Now the flames growing bigger, growing with each laugh around the circle, the wood crumpling, dying away diminishing into the fire. Yellow and orange warmth. Each individual, their smile, their story adding pieces to the pile, as do we add more precious memories to this adventure. But tomorrow our adventure will slowly come to a finish, the end of the trail, like the fire will dwindle away leaving the ashes behind. When I leave this trip the ashes of the memories, and the friendship will be scattered along the path of my life and someday I’ll clean up the path and rekindle those ashes to make another fire and the memories and friendships I’ll remember looking into the glow of the fire.

Amanda

Do I have to leave?
seems like it just started.
having to leave that beauty behind.
it hurts
