A calm wind
ruffles the leaves
A cool breeze brushes the sunkist walls of a canyon
A rumbling creek bubbles over the pebbles
A deer meanders through the meadow
Cubs roughhouse in an open field
And even though I’m away from home
Everything here reminds me of there
Even though the walks are long and tiring
The scenes and beauty are worth every hardship
Sarah
Give me that old
worn trail
in the mountains
and I’ll be singin’
my worries away
get me away from civilization

First
day of backpacking. It’s not too hard. We hiked six miles.
We had to cross a fair amount of trees. We’re sleeping
on granite tonight.
Allison
Today
we had the choice of going the short way or going the long way!
We all went the long way which is cool cause we put a lot of
effort into it. We got to our camp. We’re at 9,000 feet,
isn’t it amazing?
Toni
We
started up the trail. It was hard climbing up. It rained that
afternoon. It rained like mad. We went to sleep early that night.
