First WildLink Expedition In Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park.

They were snowed on. The ten hikers were thrilled! Most had never seen snow before and their clothing, tents and a campfire kept them warm. John Lockhart, Director of the Sequoia Field Institute and Jocelyn Gretz, WildLink's expedition leader led the students from Reedley and Woodlake High School into the wilderness of Sequoia National Park where the students saw a bear, tested water and air quality and experienced wilderness at its Fall best.

John Lockhart called the expedition "a definite success, exactly what we wanting to do (educating central valley youth about the Park).  I walked away with that 'I’ve made a difference feeling'.  The students were outstanding."
