The Yosemite Institute (YI) is a
private, non-profit educational organization that provides
experiential field science programs in Nature's Classroom,
to inspire a personal connection to the natural world and
responsible actions to sustain it.
This is the organizations entrusted
to take students from the participating WildLink schools
into the heart of the Sierra Nevada.

Backpacking trips comprise the heart
of the WildLink expeditions with the Yosemite Institute. For
many years, Yosemite Institute has made use of the 94% of
Yosemite National Park that is designated Wilderness, to expose
students to a wilder, quieter, unique part of the Sierra.
Spending 1-3 nights in the backcountry is a great way to heighten
the values of the Yosemite environmental education experience.
