First
Impressions
Today
we went for a walk. At first I thought it was going
to be cold but when we started walking you couldn't feel
if it was cold. Then we got to the place we were going and
sat around the fire and got marshmallows. Then we went over
what was the definition of wild. It is a place where man
can visit but can't stay permanently. We also sat to watch
the stars there.
When
we almost got back to Camp [Curry] we went and lay down
in the snow to watch the stars. I had the chance to watch
a shooting star. It all looked like it was fake. It looked
like someone went over and painted all those wonderful things
that are out there.
Goals
and Expectations
Today
we got up and came to take a hike. I had the chance
to learn how to use a compass. I also saw Yosemite Falls.
I hope that tomorrow when we got out to the field all by
ourselves it will be better or the same as these two days.
I'm really excited because it is going to be the first time
that I'm going out into the middle of the mountains. I alos
hope that we could get the chance to see other animals.
The animal that I want to see is a mountain lion.

My
Background and Wilderness
Well
when I was little I would look at the mountains and
say to myself, "Well, they're just mountains [and]
green stuff. No big deal."
Now
that this week I have been hearing different [things]
about the 'green stuff', I think that [it] is important.
[It is important] also because one of the first people that
stepped on this land were Mexican miners. O, and remember
[that this] is not just 'green stuff', [but that it] is
a home.
Wilderness
Poetry
I
like this place a lot
I don't want to go back home
It is peaceful in the wilderness

I
have to use the restroom
The wilderness restroom is nice and quiet
It's a pretty cool restroom
