what is wilderness?
land that existed before man and would be here if man wasn't here.

are you in wilderness now?

no.

Goals and Expectations

My hope is to go on a trail and see things never seen by me before.

And my expectation is it's going be cold (not to mention it's going to be fun).

My Biggest Challenge

My biggest challenge has been to adapt to: to learn when enough is enough and being warm at night.

I want to remember...

the life, the trails, the plants, the water, the air, the people, the past, the present...and above all the hike [maybe] not above all but I'll remember it well. I'll remember the teachers, posion oak, the tents, the 'California newt'...the other salamander, the figs that look so displaced around the green, the walls everywhere, the spring, the snow, Yosemite, the waterfalls, the botany, the history. And all in all, I want to remember everything [in the] wilderness.
