What is your expectation of wilderness?

I am so happy to be here! My expectation for this wilderness trip is to make it the best experience ever. I want to see those wonderful animals that are out there and I’m so happy that it’s raining. Yay! Because not very many people get to go hiking in the rain ya know. I want to be free and enjoy this trip. I want to be able to experience Yosemite a lot more than the little village. Today Winston told us that Yosemite’s falls were running. I was really happy. Well I just want to have fun and learn. I’m only a sophomore so ya never know I might want to work in a National Forest.

What was the reality of wilderness?

On my trip to the wilderness I didn’t believe that it would be so hard and I expected it to be a little bit easier, because I felt like I could have had more fun if it wasn’t raining; but we did the best we could and I did enjoy it. When we finally stayed there and sun was out that was good. Right now my back hurts really bad but I rushed myself in getting there. When the four and a half mile trip ended I knew that I’m capable of completing that kind of hike. So I liked it but I didn’t. Now even the majority of the stuff I brought was still wet and even my journal got wet. I think camping at Hites Cove was a new experience but I think I am going to stick with staying inside of a tent instead of outside one. I am waiting right now to start my next adventure, with a very happy smile on my face.
