What
are your fears and goals for the expedition?
One of my
biggest fears on this trip is one that mostly everyone I could
say fears. I am scared that a really bad accident will happen.
But I don’t really care about it because the people around
me know what’s going on and we always stay in touch. Mostly
it’s like a car accident or something like that. But I
trust them so it’s all ok. That’s one thing I fear
for this trip. Three goals: For this trip I say I have many
goals but here are just three of them. My first goal for this
trip is to experience the wilderness and learn from what’s
around us. My second goal is to get to know the schoolmates
I came on this trip with and try to help them as much as I can.
And my third goal is to have fun and just be positive about
everything, because I hardly know my schoolmates. I know I could
do that. Just so I could be a better person.

Today was
a good day. Everybody had a chance to express their fears to
the whole group. We had a good walk to Yosemite Valley tonight
to check out a powerpoint about camping out in the backcountry.
I was hoping of camping out. But it was even better getting
pampered in the cabins all nice and warm and waking up to a
good breakfast and ending the day with a great dinner. It’s
been a wonderful time here at camp curry. And it’s so
sad that tomorrow after breakfast we’re leaving to another
cabin to the Merced grove. It will be great. We still have 4
more days. But I know Camp Curry will be here so I could come
back and visit someday with my family. That would be AWESOME!
How
did it feel during the space walk to the cabin?
Today was
cold. We took a long walk in the snow to the Merced Grove cabin.
As I walked through the trail by myself I felt cold and lonely.
But in the inside, underneath my wet clothes I felt warm and
toasty and appreciated from everyone around me. I felt as every
person in my life needed me and made me feel loved. It was peaceful
and I had the chance to think about so many things. And how
great it was to be out here backpacking getting wet from the
snow/rain. I love it!
What
makes Yosemite sacred/special to you?
Yosemite
is a very spiritual place for me because it’s not like
home. It’s something better. The feeling of being out
here is great. There’s peace and tranquility that allows
you to reveal your true feeling no matter what.
