What
are your fears and goals for the expedition?
I really
don’t have nay serious fears about this trip, but I am
worried about a few things. One of the things I’m worried
about is getting sick. I would just hate to catch a cold or
something which would force me go back home before I fully discover
the meaning of this trip. I am also worried about getting stomach
problems. I hate getting stomach problems and also this place
I’m at it, it’s absolutely one of the worst places
for someone to get sick at. But what I’m mostly worried
about is getting seriously injured. I’m worried about
having an accident and not getting treated in time due to the
remote place we are at.
I also have
quite a few goals I would like to accomplish in this trip. One
of my most meaningful goals is to make lots of long-lasting
friendships with the people around me. I would love to have
a few more friends to help and also to rely only. Another goal
is to leave this place with a deeper knowledge about myself
but most importantly about nature and the wilderness around
me. I’m sure there are lots of great things about nature
that I have not discovered yet. I would like to leave this place
with a positive attitude and also with respect and appreciation
towards nature and others.
How
did it feel during the space walk to the cabin?
Today as
I was hiking on the snow making my way to the cabin I felt something
I had not felt in a long time. The fact that they actually let
us hike alone was an extremely good idea. Hiking alone in the
wilderness created a really quiet, peaceful and interesting
scenario. As I was hiking I felt a really beautiful inner peace
that made me forget all my troubles and worries, I felt like
it was just me and nature on this planet. Hiking alone also
made me more observative and helped me notice how beautiful
the wilderness truly is. This method of hiking is definitely
one of the greatest ideas ever.
What
makes Yosemite sacred/special to you?
In my opinion,
Yosemite definitely is one of the most special, beautiful and
peaceful places I have been to. Yosemite is really special to
me because it has made a big difference in my life and in my
thoughts also because I have learned so much from it. This place
is also peaceful and majestic because its quietness just allows
us to focus on whatever it is you want and also allows us to
be more observative towards nature and the wilderness. Yosemite
is also some kind of religious place because once you are alone
you can feel free to express yourself and also allows you to
meditate, because there is absolutely nothing to bother or disturb
you.
