The
difference wilderness makes in me:
Some
of the differences I see and feel in the wilderness and home
are that I don’t think I would even feel comfortable enough
to pee in the bush at home. I don’t have to watch for
poison oak. I’ve seemed to kind of let go of everything
that would usually be my life and take this experience in, even
if for just a week. I’ve seen more beauty in wilderness
than I have ever seen in the city. I feel like a ton was lifted
from my shoulders and put on my back (joke). I don’t know,
I just guess I could show everything I’ve seen on these
days with everyone. I wish this experience was open to more
people around the world.
Wilderness
is:
To
me the wilderness is beauty. There isn’t another place
you could look at and see pureness, and that is how I see beauty.
To me the wilderness is peaceful. There is no city you could
go to and fall asleep to the sound of a running river. And that
is how I see peacefulness. To me the wilderness is living. There
isn’t a movie you could see or an internet site you could
go on that would let you feel so alive. To me the wilderness
is breathtaking. There will never be a walk you take as exhausting,
but rewarding as those in the wilderness. And that is how I
see breathtaking. To me the wilderness is kind of like me. Up
close you might be able to see a couple of trees, but when you
sit back on the top of a mountain, you see all the magnificence
it holds. And that is how I see the wilderness.
