The
difference wilderness makes in me:
In
the city where I live, I like to watch t.v., play videogames,
and even go skateboarding. Back home, there are many things
to do. In the wilderness here at Yosemite, it’s awesome.
I got to go sight seeing. In the city, where
there is always noise, you can never find peace and quiet. In
the wilderness, I am able to hear nature and have peace and
quietness. In the wilderness, I feel like a different person.
I have respect for nature and for the animals that live there.
Back in the city, I used to climb trees and chase animals. In
the wilderness, I don’t do it because it’s their
natural habitat. If I see a tree or animal, I leave it alone.
They are living things. In the city, I’m adapted to it
so I do those things. In the wilderness, I become a different
person who sees what nature really is and I’d like to
leave it the way it is because the wilderness is beautiful place.
Wilderness
is:
Wilderness
is a society where no human technology exists. There are only
trees, rocks, animals, and water. Wilderness, to me, is being
isolated and you have to use the natural resources around you.
You have to drink the water you find and go behind a bush or
tree if you have to use the restroom. Wilderness is solitude.
There’s nothing around you except for the beautiful living
things. Wilderness is also survival, you have to rely on the
natural sources around you. Being in the wilderness is fun,
but also scary.
