This
week WildLink students were asked to imagine that all of the
country’s wilderness areas were in jeopardy of being developed;
Congress is locked in a tie and the person who will cast the
deciding vote is undecided. Each student has an exclusive audience
with this person in order to sway his/her vote in the direction
they believe is right. What would they say?
If
the forest was in danger I would do anything to save it. I think
that forests are such beautiful places, and now days there aren’t
so many left. The forest is the only thing I could think of
that it is naturally grown. If the vote against the forest would
get the majority of the votes, I think that the world wouldn’t
really be the same. If forest wouldn’t be a protected
area many of these beautiful sequoias that are thousands of
years old would probably be getting chopped off to build things.
But why ruin the beautiful trees which have been standing for
thousands of years. The forest is a land that has been protected
by the U.S. government, and it should stay protected.
