Twelve
Students and two teachers from Turlock High made their way down
to Sequoia National Pak for an exciting five-day adventure with
Stephanie Strickland, Savannah Boiano, and Chris Miles from
the Sequoia Natural History Association. Because of the long
winter that left the higher elevation trails covered in snow
and the lower elevation streams running very high, students
had the opportunity to explore the Giant Forest and foothill
region of the park.
They
were also able to explore employment opportunities in the park
by talking with park personnel from a variety of areas. The
students and chaperones from Turlock High, as well as SNHA would
like to thank the following people for donating their time and
expertise to help make this a memorable learning expedition:
Ryan
Leahy – SEKI bear technician
Alex
Picavet – SEKI Public Information officer
Jonathan
Humphrey – plant biologist
Danny
Boiano – aquatic biologist
Tim
Barrett – Park Ranger
P.
Scott Martin – Park Ranger
Carey
Goldstein - Crystal Cave manager
