I
see the beauty of this great park
Tuesday,
April 17, 2001
I
see the beauty that this great park; Yosemite has to offer.
I hear nature and how peaceful it is rather than a city.
I feel at peace with myself and nature; as if we were one.
I smell nature and how pure it really is.
I know Yosemite is one of the few last treasure[s] that
God and this great world has to offer us and that we should
take the very best care and just treasure it.
First
night at Hetch Hetchy
Wednesday,
April 18, 2001
Last night was great. I had so much fun getting to know
the people in my tent. I would say that I got to know more
about them because they were so open. I am also getting
to meet the students from Sanger pretty well but a little
slower then my schoolmates. The big thing that happened last
night and today is that it is raining. I think the rain
is making the trip more exciting. Hopefully we get a fire
started today. My feet fell into the river and my shoes
got wet so I have to wear plastic bags around my socks.

"Wilderness"
and "Challenge"
Wilderness
to me is virgin forest or natural things that have not been
touched by man and stay preserve.
Challenge to me is someone facing an obstacle and over coming
it.
My
personal "rose" and "thorn" of the trip
Well
we moved out of camp because the snow storm was coming and
hiked backed to the dam then walked to these nice warm cabins.
The rose head was the whole experience of the trip and forming
these amazing friendships. The[re] is one friendship that
I hope will still be. Also seeing the weather change from
sunny to rainy then to snowy. Seeing all the beautiful wildlife
was great.
The thorn was the coldness of the weather and that my feet
were wet. This made me grumpy.
The thing I realize is that life is too short and just do
it.
Thank
you
I just wanted to thank Barb for being the founder of WildLink
giving me the chance to go on this experience. I had a great
time even though that I really didn't show it.
Kim, I thank you for going on this experience with us. Thank
you for sharing your energy and pushing us to do this.
Thank you both for deciding to move out of camp, I would
have been lazy and stayed.
