Our first hike is going great. The building activity was challenging but fun. I think this is going to be fun. I feel like I fit in. I am anxious to start our hike. I feel like I belong hear. I think everyone here thinks I am Jerimia Jhonson. Its kind of cool.

How were you challenged today?

I've done a lot of things in the back country. I have hiked backpacked, and rode mt horses in the hills many times, but this was the hardest trail I have ever hiked. I have been in places herder than this on horseback, but doing the walking on your own is a lot harder. Although I have to say, this is the most beautiful country I have ever seen. My words would not do it justice. I realize now why it is so important to be in shape. The terrain was rugged & steep, and carrying a backpack that whays over 50 lbs, give or take, didn't help much. But to look back & see what I accomplished was as awe inspiring as the country I'm in.

Leave No Trace notes
Walking, hit me, I fall,
Say, concentrate on existing trails
Walk in single file
Avoid areas where impacts just start
Don't create new trails or camps

I think…
I think I am going to die. My shoulders ache and by back screams out in pain. But with every step I know I am getting closer to my destination, and when I reach it, I can take a look around and see what I have accomplished. I can see natures beauty is in its greatest glory.

I touch…
I touch nature & God's creation with every step of my feet. I can't start to explain the beauty around me, you would have to see it with uour own etes, and touch with your own hands to truly understand.

I hear…
I hear the call of the wild. The wind rustling through the trees, it whispers a song lost for generations. I hear the call of the city, beckoning me back home. The raven shouts a welcome before flying off and telling its friends I'm home. But I'm not home. Soon I'll be back to my home in the valley, torn from nature, hearing the bustling of busy people going to busy places. But before I go, I will leave a piece of my heart fo the mountain until the day I return to my home in nature.

I see…

I see nature in its full beauty - not what you see in post cards and t.v. but the link of beauty you can dream of.
