What is wilderness to you?
What the wilderness is to me is being somewhere,
where not that many people go. A place that can't be tamed by man.
A place that if you where to just sit still and listen, you can
hear the sounds of nature , A place where tranquility and sereneness
reside in harmony in contrast to the loud, bustling streets of the
city. The wilderness is where all of our roots began. Whether it
be in the plain of Africa or in the mountains of Tibet, in the sands
of the Middle East, or in the shores of Hawaii. We should all visit
the wilderness at least once in our life. Otherwise its beauty and
calmness will be lost forever.
"The ultimate measure of a man isn't determined
in times of comfort, but in times of challenge and controversy."
Martin Luther King Jr.
I think that this quote applies to me because I've
never done anything like this before. And no I was challenging myself
to make it through the hikes and the freezing cold nights. But by
me making it through those hard times just shows myself how much
I can take and it kinda makes me want to challenge myself in this
area.
