Now that you've experienced wilderness, what do you think about it? What did you think of wilderness before you visited it?

photo: Edgars, Channing and Joseph hiking I didn’t know about wilderness before I came and see it by myself. For weather it’s reminds me about country where I came from. I was happy to see snow again and forest. I’m really surprise about huge mountains. And I didn’t like rain and cold weather, but snow, rain, and cold weather can’t stop me for this hiking trip.

Today you've learned about the history of Hite’s Cove and explored the ruins. Imagine what life would have been like to live at Hite's Cove during the gold rush era. How do you think they viewed wilderness back then?
