I really like do like this trip, I think it’s really fun,
it’s a new experience. I’m the type of person that
likes to try new things and likes to be funny. I’ve met
new people and got to know them a little better. I thought it
was cool. I’m really looking up to going back packing,.
Were going to be away from so many people.

Now that you've experienced
wilderness, what do you think about it? What did you think of
wilderness before you visited it?
I think it’s a hard to be out
where you feel you are alone, and that the only people around
you are the people you would’ve never thought of going
on a trip with. It’s also hard because we are used to
other things, like TV, radio, and using a toilet, and not bushes.
Over all it’s fun, and it’s a learning experience.
Even though you miss family and friends.
I never really thought if this before.
I’ve been camping before, but it’s a different.
Like this I never thought of being in this place or doing things
when the teacher told us about it, I didn’t think it was
going to be that hard .I would probably do this again, and all
we can really do is to enjoy our selfs the best we can.

Today you've
learned about the history of Hite’s Cove and explored
the ruins. Imagine what life would have been like to live at
Hite's Cove during the gold rush era. How do you think they
viewed wilderness back then?
If I would’ve lived here back in time, I think it wouldn’t
seem as hard as it does now. Back then I would’ve gotten
used to living the way they do. I looks and feels hard, because
this isn’t the way we live now. To me it’s hard
to move from one place to the other, and honestly I wouldn’t
like to move to this place. I liked the way the little house
was made, and it’s cool that it’s still standing
now. I would’ve liked to see a picture of the hotel while
it was still built, I guess I have to leave it to my imagination.
I guess to the people that lived here enjoyed being here, after
all it is a beautiful place to be in. I don’t think I’ll
ever come back again, and if I do. At least I will know what
things to do, and what not to do.
