What are your HOPES and FEARS for this wilderness journey?

photo: girls pushing rockMy greatest fears is falling breaking something or getting hurt. Being afraid of getting hurt or breaking something is major for me. Because it wouldn’t make this trip more successful than I wanted for me.

What are some of the DIFFERENCES and SIMILARITIES between wilderness and your home?

photo: allene crossing the creekThe differences between Yosemite and Detroit is that in Detroit you always have to worry about being shot at and in Yosemite the danger here is falling off of a mountain or rock. Also in Detroit your out in the open where there is traffic, roads, etc. But here nothing is surrounding you but trees and rocks.

The similarities is that they both are dangerous. They've got trees and people to meet.

Letter to Myself

Dear Allene,
photo: allene journalling In the past few days me and my hiking crew camped 3 times. My favorite part of hiking was crossing rivers or even creeks, climbing rocks, and playing in the creeks near Yosemite Valley. The baddest part about this trip was when I kept getting sick, I think it was from dehydration. We saw squirrels, deer, and lots of insects. I took a lot of picture of people, things, and places. So today is the last day climbing Yosemite Falls. And when I leave this place I will cry with joyful tears because I can say I climbed this tall, beautiful, quiet, mountain. So I would like to thank everybody for making this a successful trip.
