What are some of the DIFFERENCES and SIMILARITIES between wilderness and your home?

photo: enrique and hermanOne similarity between where I’m from and where I’m at is the potential dangers that exist in both places. In the streets you can get hurt if you are not conscious of your surroundings. Similarly, in the wilderness you can also get hurt if you do not act or behave appropriately. A second similarity is the wilderness that exists in both places. In the wilderness thee is no remorse. The rivers, weather and animals do not cry when their victims are chosen. In the street the same thing exists, only that there is no river and animals are gangs. A third similarity is the need for peace. Yosemite wildlife needs to be kept peaceful if it is to survive. Similarly, families that live where I live need peace if their children are to survive.

One difference between this place and my home is that it is protected by people who care. Where I live, there is no protection other than from our selves, that is, if you care.

Letter to Myself

Hello Enrique! Isn’t it beautiful to feel like you on top of the world like when you were under that tree. The view overlooking half dome was awesomesketch: half dome - Perhaps someday this will last forever as you sat there on that rock. Do you remember? Are you ready to show this exact view to your kids one day? Your ancestors dreams could have possibly been about you, their lineage sitting on top of the world. Perhaps one day this will last forever.
