to Myself
Dear Self,
Was it what you expected? Maybe not. The views the sounds. Instead
of the sounds of cars rushing down the 405 and 110 freeways,
it was the sound of water rushing down no name, and blue jay
and also Yosemite Creek. Instead of the sounds of bumping car
stereo systems it was thunder over the mountains or a nice breeze
between pine needles. You’ve always been a pretty crazy
good adapter but did you think you would conquer the trails
you did so naturally? It was like you were meant to be there.
Instead of the kids talking about whose clothes were nicer they
were actually sharing their personal feelings and special memories
with you. I’m proud of every single kids from Harbor City
and Detroit. But I’m also proud of you. That 4 day hike
was pretty intimidating at first but you never look back cuz
forward is where the prize is. Yosemite Falls and Yosemite  point
were the prize dog. Knowing that long steep trails lead to beautiful
view is the prize dog. So plan the trip, pack well, and jump
on the trail, cuz the prize is only a few miles away.
