The Story of the Secret Spot

Have you ever really listened to the sound of a river? I mean really listened to the raw yet peaceful sound of the powerful flow of a river?

Today, while on a hike along a river, I heard it speak to me. It was magic. The river called out to me and asked me to follow it past the trail. Its spirit was mesmerizing as I trekked along unexplored territory.

When I thought that I couldn't travel any further, the river promised me that I ony had a little further to go. My mind decided to ignore my body and continue on this incredible journey. Just as I had reached what appeared to be a dead end, I crawled under a rock and then through a tiny little crevice. That is when I saw it! The water was moving harmoniously across a smooth curve int he rock and then cascading downward about 25 feet onto a ledge. It was a shower made by Mother Nature in all of her glory with a view like no other.

The integration of land, water, air, and life was perfect. It was so therpeutic just to sit quietly and allow myself to soak it all in. I needed to enjoy this moment for as long as I possibly could because I might not ever see it again. If that is the case, I can at least share my experience with others through these words. I know that I am not the first, nor the will I be the last because the river will come calling again.

I hope that the river tells me how to get out of this place because it is almost time for dinner!
